I know, I know, the last thing one wants on a Friday is a QUIZ! But, not to worry…I’ve made this a very simple one – only 3 little questions. The answers are below – past the picture of the dog – don’t cheat now!
1) All human medicines will work on pets if you adjust the dosage for their weight.
TRUE or FALSE?
2) Constricting Hand on dogs and cats is a protocol to control bleeding.
TRUE or FALSE?
3) Death by poisoning is the least common preventable pet accident.
TRUE or FALSE?

1) All human medicines will work on pets if you adjust the dosage for their weight. FALSE. Not all human medicines are safe for use on animals. Always check with your vet first!
2) Constricting Hand on dogs and cats is a protocol to control bleeding. TRUE. As close to the injury as possible, apply firm pressure with 4 fingers over the main artery with hand and thumb wrapping around the extremity or tail.
3) Death by poisoning is the least common preventable pet accident. FALSE. Death by poisoning is one of the more common preventable accidents of pre-senior dogs and cats. Snail bait, rat poison, insecticides and antifreeze or ethylene glycol are some of the most common substances.

I always wondered about #1. Although I always consult with our holistic vet…
Thanks, Hiromi! Glad you liked the quiz! I can’t stress it enough – not all human medicines are meant to be used on animals. Always check with your vet first!
